Barcelona have enjoyed immense success through the purchase of Girona starlet Pau Victor this summer.

The young forward has been one of the key highlights of Barça’s pre-season and looks all set to become the main alternative for Robert Lewandowski next season.

Impressed by Victor’s success, Barcelona are eyeing another raid on Girona – this time for the services of a winger.

Barça set sights on Oscar Urena

According to Nil Sola, Barcelona are in talks with Girona over the transfer of attacking prospect Oscar Urena.

It appears the Catalans are seeking a loan deal for the young winger, who is coming on the back of a loan spell at Leganes last season.

Barça had sought a similar loan deal for Pau Victor last summer – signing the young forward on a loan and making him play for Barça Atletic.

The Catalans want Urena to play for Barça Atletic as well, hoping he can make an impact in the lower levels before making a push for the senior team.

Urena desperate to join Barcelona

Nil Sola adds that Urena, for his part, is desperate to join Barcelona as he looks to take the next step in his career.

It appears Urena has rejected multiple offers from La Liga Hypermotion – the Spanish second division – in an attempt to seal a move to Catalonia.

Urena’s efforts might just pay off as both sides are quite optimistic about reaching an agreement in the coming days.

Once the deal is completed, Urena will become the third transfer conducted between Barcelona and Girona this summer, following Oriol Romeu and Pau Victor.
