Ferran Torres may play a significant role for the Spanish national team, but his importance at Barcelona under Hansi Flick hasn’t been quite as notable.

However, after an impressive performance against Switzerland, the former Valencia winger is eager to prove his worth when he returns to club duties with Barcelona, according to a report from SPORT.

In the match against Switzerland, Torres acknowledged that while he would not have many opportunities to shine offensively, he was prepared to contribute significantly in defence.

He made the most of the chances he got and took pride in his team’s strong fighting spirit. Reflecting on the game, he said,

“I knew I wasn’t going to be able to shine much offensively because I had to focus on defending, but I was confident that I would get my chances and I took them.”

He also noted the team’s passion and dedication, explaining, “It might not be a Euro or a World Cup, but we approach every match as if it were a final. You could see how we celebrated in the penalty area after the final whistle.”

With his return to Barcelona on the horizon, Torres is determined to establish himself more firmly in Hansi Flick’s squad and replicate his success with the national team, where he has scored 22 goals in 49 games.

During this international break, he has been a key player under Luis de la Fuente.

At Barcelona, Torres has featured in all four of the team’s league matches so far. He started the first two games against Valencia and Athletic Club and came off the bench in the matches against Rayo Vallecano and Valladolid.

Throughout these appearances, he has contributed with a goal and an assist. Torres is fully aware of the intense competition for spots in the squad but remains highly motivated to succeed and make a significant impact.
