The day of the big decision is upon Barcelona fans as the board assemble for a meeting regarding Xavi’s continuity. The administration have been trying to convince the Spaniard to continue as manager since he announced his decision to leave the club late in January.
Initially, it seemed like he would stick true to his word no matter what, and would not go back on his decision.
However, as Barcelona continued to improve over the course of the final few weeks of the season, Xavi’s continuity started becoming a reality, with Laport and Deco working behind the scenes to convince him.
Reports claimed that the board would meet Xavi on Wednesday to take a final call on his future, but it seems like the administration is in splits.

While there is a huge faction of the board that is convinced that he is the right man for the job given the current circumstances, there are also people who believe that this is the right time to bring in a new manager.
The management have been in debate since the day started over the topic, and the meeting might extend till early evening at this point.
At the end of it, any decision made will finally depend on Xavi and Joan Laporta, who must meet. Their meeting is not scheduled for this week, though, which means the final call might be delayed.
The coach is speaking to sports director Deco, though, and the two are planning the team with the intention of taking a leap forward despite the lack of resources.
What is in store for Xavi’s future?
As it stands, all signs point toward Xavi continuing as the coach of Barcelona. While there may be officials on the board who disagree with this stance, the club does not have too many appropriate replacements available.
Hansi Flick and Rafael Marquez seem like the only likely names, but they do not generate any sort of consensus between the administration.
