Journalist Jordi Batalla has reported through Mundo Deportivo that there was another significant meeting between Barcelona and Dani Olmo’s representatives yesterday.

This meeting ended on a positive note, indicating that both the club and the player’s team are making progress in their efforts to finalise his transfer.

It is no secret that Barça remain very interested in signing Olmo. The ongoing discussions between the club and Olmo’s agents, Juanma Lopez and Andy Bara, highlight Barcelona’s determination to bring the player on board.

This latest meeting, which took place before the presentation of Hansi Flick, followed a similar discussion held the day before. According to the information, both sides left the meeting with a sense of optimism and mutual agreement on moving forward.

Olmo wants Barcelona

It is evident that Olmo is keen on joining Barcelona, and the club shares this interest. Following their recent discussions in Barcelona, Olmo’s agents are scheduled to meet with officials from RB Leipzig in the coming days.

Their goal is to negotiate a transfer that works for all parties involved: Olmo, Barcelona, and the German club.

Barcelona’s interest in Olmo is quite clear. The Catalan club is committed to bringing the Spaniard into their squad but is cautious about meeting Leipzig’s asking price of €60 million in one go.

First offer was rejected

In their initial offer to Leipzig, Barcelona proposed paying €40 million in four annual instalments, with an additional €20 million contingent on performance-based bonuses.

However, Leipzig rejected this proposal, deeming it insufficient. The German club is open to the idea of instalment payments but does not want to lower the overall price they have set for Olmo.

This ongoing negotiation reflects Barcelona’s strategy to acquire high-value players without compromising their financial planning.

The next steps will involve further discussions between Olmo’s representatives and Leipzig, aiming to reach an agreement that meets everyone’s expectations.
