Barcelona haven’t had much success with their Brazilian signings, of late. Large investments in the likes of Arthur Melo, Malcom and Vitor Roque have gone down the drain, even though the latter could still turn things around.

However, these relatively recent failures have not discouraged Barça, who remain on the hunt for up-and-coming talents in Brazil like Vitor Reis.

Barcelona keeping tabs on Doguinha

According to Jijantes, Barcelona may have already found their next big target in Brazilian football, in the form of Guilherme Doguinha.

A winger by trade, Doguinha plies his trade for Flamengo. He likes to play on the right flank and is known for his speed and ability to drift past opposition players.

Doguinha currently plays for the lower categories of Flamengo and has yet to make a first-team appearance. However, having been born in 2009, the youngster appears to have a bright future ahead of him.

As per the report, Doguinha has impressed Barcelona scouts with his abilities on the ball, even though his game does require a lot of polishing.

Barcelona determined to crack the Brazilian market

The report also suggests that Barcelona have not lost hope in the Brazilian market, despite the recent failures.

The Catalan outfit possesses a strong scouting network in Brazil, led by Paulo Araujo, whose main job is to identify talents that can be purchased at a lower price.

Barcelona’s first order of operation is to either add talented players to the first team or sell them to other clubs for sizable profits.

The club have similar operations in South America and Africa though with a limited amount of success for now. As of now, the club are likely to continue monitoring Doguinha, whose age won’t make him eligible to move to Spain just yet.
