Former Barcelona player and current football coordinator Bojan Krkic shared his thoughts following the Champions League Round of 16 draw, which paired the club with Benfica.
The two clubs met not so long ago at Estadio da Luz in the league phase of the competition – a game which Barcelona won 5-4 thanks to a stoppage-time winner by Raphinha.
Bojan urges caution
With the Blaugrana now set to face Benfica in the Round of 16 over two legs next month, Bojan urged the team to proceed with caution despite their good run of form.
“They are an opponent who have done a lot to deserve to be there. We have experience of playing against them. It was a game we won but the first half was very difficult for us,” he noted.

“We know that there is no room for error in a Champions League tie,” the former forward added.
For Barcelona to progress, Bojan insisted that they will need to perform exceptionally well, saying: “They are an opponent we respect a lot. It’s a tie that we know that we will have to do very well to get through.”
Reflecting on the season so far, the former Barcelona forward noted that the team was on the right track under Hansi Flick and must continue in the same vein in the business end of the season.
“The path we are on this season is a very good one. We must believe in ourselves, that we have a good team and a good staff who are working very well and now that the really important part of the season is starting, we must continue in this vein,” he said.
