Ansu Fati returned to FC Barcelona this summer after a disappointing season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he once again battled injury and fitness problems.

The La Masia forward is fully committed to the club and wants to prove to new manager Hansi Flick during these first training sessions and pre-season games that he can have a place in the first-team squad.

So much so that Fati returned to training at the club facilities a few days before the pre-season camp was scheduled to start so as to get himself in good shape physically.

Special plan for Ansu Fati

Now, SPORT reports that Flick’s coaching staff members are taking care of Fati with a special, tailor-made plan to improve his physical performance during these first few days of the pre-season.

In Friday’s training session, the first one open to the media, Fati was seen following a different routine compared to the rest of his teammates during the first few minutes.

The forward was accompanied by Rafa Maldonado, one of the on-field physical trainers, and Germán Fernández, the fitness and strength trainer, in these activation and stretching exercises, unlike the rest of his teammates, who did the same exercises in a group.

Furthermore, new coaches Julio Tous and Pepe Conde are also closely monitoring the evolution of the Spanish international.

Reports suggest that Fati has made a solid impression on manager Flick in the early days of the pre-season.

A strong showing on the US tour could further enhance his chances of securing his future at Barcelona.
