Barcelona have been developing a trend of continually churning out talented youngsters from the academy in times of desperation.

The theme especially held true this season, as the emergence of various young stars often managed to overshadow the complications Barcelona faced as a whole.

As the season draws to an end, though, the Catalan giants are now committed to ensuring the talented gems they have unearthed do not end up slipping through the cracks.

Most recently, the club tied down the future of Pau Cubarsi by retaining him until 2027 with a mammoth €500 million release clause.

And with his continuity ensured, Barcelona are focussing on the renewals of other talents, such as Hector Fort.

Mutual understanding between both parties

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo Hector Fort’s contract ends in 2025, and Barcelona are working on a new deal.

Talks with his representatives have been ongoing for a few months, and both sides hope to reach an agreement soon.

Even though negotiations have been slow and an agreement is taking longer than expected, both parties have a good understanding, and no problems are foreseen.

Barcelona are certain that Fort will be a part of their future at the new Camp Nou, especially since the 17-year-old aspires to stay. The club believes they will find common ground imminently.

Fort has garnered some interest

Fort has been garnering some interest due to the incredible strides he has made this season, with solid performances in both the left and right-back positions.

It was previously reported that PSG had inquired about the youngster, but Barcelona shut down any potential advancements.

With the club eager to keep him for the long haul and Joao Cancelo’s future up in the air, Fort is expected to be present at Barcelona for the foreseeable future.
