In a surprising development, Youssoufa Moukoko’s agent, Patrick Williams, has revealed that the young Borussia Dortmund forward is exploring opportunities with other clubs.

Moukoko, who is only 19 years old, has struggled to secure a spot in Dortmund’s first team and despite signing a contract extension in 2023, he is now looking to leave the club.

Williams criticised the German team for their treatment of Moukoko, stating that they failed to deliver on the promises made to the player.

“Youssoufa was promised a lot before he signed, but it wasn’t realised,” said the forward’s agent as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“Media always portray him as a loser, whether in training or the ongoing season. He only wants to play and if he is asked to go out and play, we’d have no stress.”

He went on to acknowledge that due to this treatment, they are actively seeking a way out for the talented striker and are open to offers from clubs in England, Spain, and France.

“It’s not a secret that there are enough clubs out here who believe in Youssoufa’s qualities… and want him”.

“Now we are sounding out interest in signing him from England, Spain and France.”

What does it have to do with Barcelona?

You might wonder how this situation connects to Barcelona. Aside from being a former target for the club, Moukoko presents a significant market opportunity for Barcelona.

At just 19 years old, he has a promising career ahead of him and there is also a potential vacancy at Barcelona with the possible departure of Vitor Roque.

Roque, a Brazilian forward, is currently out of favour at Barcelona and might leave during the summer for a considerable transfer fee.

Although Barcelona plan to reinvest the money elsewhere, Roque’s exit would create a need for reinforcements in the attacking lineup, especially since Robert Lewandowski would be the only natural number 9 remaining at the club.

Considering Moukoko’s desire to leave and Barcelona’s potential need for a new forward, the Catalan club could take advantage of the situation to negotiate a more affordable deal for the young striker.

Currently, Moukoko’s market valuation is €22 million, but given his eagerness to depart, Barcelona might have the opportunity to secure his services at a lower price.

This situation could benefit both Moukoko, who is seeking more playing time and a fresh start, and Barcelona, which is looking to strengthen its squad without overspending.

In summary, Moukoko’s potential move from Borussia Dortmund should be drawing attention from top clubs in Europe, including Barcelona.

His agent’s comments indicate that the young forward is eager for more opportunities and playing time, something he believes he has not received at Dortmund.

With the possibility of Roque leaving Barcelona, Moukoko could be a valuable addition to their attacking options, and the club could leverage his current situation to negotiate a favourable deal.
