If reports from Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, Barcelona have made a shortlist of ten players that they are keeping tabs on, hoping to sign at least one of the who fits the bill this summer.
This list is mostly made up of low-budget options like Aleix Garcia, Raphael Onyedika, Wilfred Ndidi, and Dion Lopy. These are the players that should be available to Barcelona in the €10-25 million range ideally.
The likes of Martin Zubimendi, Bruno Guimaraes, and Joshua Kimmich are perhaps definitely out of sight at this point. All of them are expected to cost upwards of €60 million, and can only be pursued if Barcelona make a couple of really big sales.
Somewhere between these lies Atalanta’s Ederson. Currently 24, the Brazilian has been playing for the Serie A outfit since 2022 and is enjoying a largely successful campaign on an individual level this season.
He has scored five goals and given one assist so far, which should perhaps indicate that he is perhaps not a true no. 6. While he plays in a double pivot for Atalanta alongside Marten de Roon, the Dutchman acts as the deepest player, while Ederson has the license to rove upwards.
That said, Ederson is a well-equipped ball-winner, and is not afraid of going into tackles. He has made just under six ball recoveries per game so far this season, and could definitely be useful for this Barcelona midfield.
Atalanta brought him in for €21 million two years ago, and with two years still remaining on his contract, it would be safe to assume they will be seeking approximately a 100% profit on their midfielder.
