As has been reported already, FC Barcelona would be willing to listen to offers for many of their first-team stars in the summer transfer window.

Only a very handful of players are seen as non-transferable by the Catalan club’s administration, with Joan Laporta not ruling out an overhaul as he had previously vowed there would be consequences for a disappointing season.

Alejandro Balde not safe from the axe

And, as per Javi Miguel of AS, Barcelona are not ruling out the possible departure of young left-back Alejandro Balde if a great offer comes for the 20-year-old.

The La Masia graduate, who is currently in the final phase of his recovery from injury, is understood to be on the list of transferable players if a big offer arrives.

In fact, Balde’s agent, Jorge Mendes, had already flown to Barcelona in January to present an important offer from a Premier League club, which the club rejected.

Enough options at left-back?

It must be noted that given that Balde is a homegrown player, any transfer fee that Barcelona receive for him would go into the books as complete profit.

On top of that, another factor behind the possible sale of Balde is that Barcelona believe they might have options at left-back.

After all, Alex Valle will be returning from his loan spell at Levante at the end of the season while Joao Cancelo could remain at Barça if Man City allow him to leave on loan again.

Hector Fort, too, has proven himself capable of playing as a left-back when required.

Of course, Barcelona are not going to ‘give away’ the player under any circumstances. Only a very important offer could move the young home-grown player, and only with the player’s consent.
