Barcelona will be eyeing three more points tomorrow as they take on Real Sociedad at Anoeta.
Another win for the Catalans could help head into the international break with a lead of at least nine points.
However, Hansi Flick has to deal with a few setbacks, especially with Pau Cubarsi picking up a nasty knock in midweek. He is unlikely to feature against Sociedad, which might pave the way for Jules Kounde to return to his old position.
Dani Olmo doubtful for Sociedad clash
But it appears Flick may have to do without the services of yet another star player in the form of Dani Olmo.
According to Diario SPORT, Olmo is currently sick and did not train with the team heading into the Sociedad clash.
Who will replace Olmo in Barcelona midfield? (Photo by Srdjan Stevanovic/Getty Images)It seems the former RB Leipzig playmaker was sent home after suffering from a viral illness. As such, there are doubts about his presence tomorrow.
Big blow for Barcelona?
Olmo’s absence against Sociedad could be a huge blow for Barcelona as they look to head into the international break on a positive note.
The Spanish international was extremely influential against Espanyol last weekend. His creativity and interplay with other attackers, in fact, had made him one of the most important players for Hansi Flick.
However, Barcelona have done well even without Olmo in the past. With Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski in full form, Barça should have no problem navigating the Sociedad defence.
Not to mention, Flick has an abundance of alternatives, including Fermin Lopez and Ansu Fati, both of who are more than prepared to fill in the hole left by Olmo.
