There has been a significant revelation from journalist Nil Sola regarding Eric Garcia’s potential return to Girona.

Although Hansi Flick considers Garcia an important part of his plans for the upcoming season, the possibility of his departure from Barcelona is still on the table.

The reporter mentions that such a move could help Barcelona navigate the tight Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations they are currently facing.

At this moment, Girona manager Michel is reportedly keen on having Garcia back in his squad and is waiting for the opportunity to bring him back after his successful stint last season.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are in a delicate financial situation, where making strategic player sales is necessary to meet the 1:1 rule imposed by La Liga.

As a result, Barcelona have been actively discussing the futures of several players, including Vitor Roque and Ilkay Gundogan. In this context, Garcia’s name has also come up as a potential candidate for transfer.

Interestingly, just a few weeks before the new La Liga season kicked off, there was an expectation that Garcia would play a crucial role for Barcelona, especially with Ronald Araujo expected to be sidelined for a significant period due to injury.

Garcia’s versatility and defensive skills were seen as essential for the team during Araujo’s absence. Moreover, only a week ago, Garcia himself confirmed that he had a conversation with Hansi Flick, after which he assured everyone that he was fully committed to staying

This statement seemed to solidify his future with the club, making the recent developments all the more surprising.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Garcia’s future, his importance to both Girona and Barcelona cannot be overstated.

While his potential return to Girona could provide a boost to Michel’s side, his presence at Barcelona is equally crucial, given the club’s current financial constraints and the uncertainty regarding Araujo’s recovery.
