Barcelona are accelerating their exit operations now with less than two weeks left before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Several fringe players could depart in the coming days, with the likes of Clement Lenglet, Vitor Roque, and Ansu Fati all expected to be on their way out while there may be some surprise goodbyes as well.

Mika Faye to Rennes is on

One such departure is very close to materialising as SPORT reports that young defender Mika Faye is inching towards a transfer from Barcelona to Rennes.

The 20-year-old was put up for sale by the Blaugrana after manager Hansi Flick was left unconvinced by him during pre-season.

Rennes have been showing strong interest in acquiring the Senegalese international’s services over the past week or so.

Despite there being other suitors like Besiktas and FC Porto, it appears that the youngster will be headed to France.

As per the report, Faye will leave Barcelona for Rennes in a deal worth €15 million in total, of which €11 million will be the fixed amount and the rest in variables.

A buy-back option on the player in the first three years of his contract is under discussion between the two clubs.

As soon as the Ligue 1 side finalise the transfer of Arthur Theate to Eintracht Frankfurt, they will move to sign Faye, who is the replacement for the Belgian.

Faye did not train today with the rest of his Barcelona teammates. The club explained that he had a virus, but it is likely that he will leave at the end of this week or early next week.

Barcelona have not registered the 20-year-old and he will not play against Valencia tomorrow.
