It’s been almost two weeks since Barcelona started their pre-season campaign under the leadership of new coach Hansi Flick.

One of the highlights from the club’s pre-season campaign has been the impact of Ansu Fati, who returned from a rather disappointing loan spell at Brighton.

Once regarded as the next big thing for Barcelona, Fati has fallen from grace in the past couple of years owing to injuries and lack of form.

Before the start of the summer transfer window, the forward was destined to leave Barcelona. But thanks to the persistence of Flick, he was given a chance to prove himself in training.

Fati making waves in pre-season

More than three weeks into June, it appears Hansi Flick’s decision to hand Ansu Fati a second life could prove to be a masterstroke.

Fati has been making waves in Barcelona’s pre-season campaign, impressing onlookers with his commitment and performances in training.

This is according to Jota Jordi, who suggests that Barcelona are delighted with Fati in pre-season and that the Spaniard is moving closer to sealing a place in the first team with each passing day.

This also corroborates with earlier news reports highlighting Fati’s performances in training and his desire to become a crucial member of the team going forward.

Too early to make a call

However, these are still early days and Fati’s fate cannot be sealed until he makes a huge impact in the upcoming US tour.

Not to mention, Barcelona continue to deal with various suitors for Fati, with Sevilla, for one, still keen on acquiring the services of the La Masia starlet.

The coming weeks, therefore, could be crucial as Barcelona look to make a final decision on the future of Fati, who may also face enhanced competition if the club end up signing their top target Nico this summer.
