Newcastle United keeping tabs on Raphinha
To that end, a recent report from Football Insider (h/t Mundo Deportivo) suggests Newcastle United are keeping a close eye on Raphinha this summer.
Fresh from the sale of Yankuba Minteh, the Magpies have the cash to burn this summer as they look to reinforce their ranks in the offensive unit.
Raphinha has emerged as an ideal replacement candidate for Minteh. The Brazilian has exposure to the Premier League, thanks to his time at Leeds United.

His direct style of play, coupled with his dribbling and crossing prowess make him an ideal target for Newcastle United.
Barcelona’s whopping price-tag for Raphinha
Despite the interest from Newcastle United, Raphinha remains keen on continuing at Barça. He is even expected to join the Barcelona training camp before the club’s pre-season tour to the United States.
While Newcastle are looking to capitalise on Raphinha’s uncertain prospects at Barça, reaching an agreement with the Catalans could be tricky.
That is because Barcelona are holding out for a fee of €90 million for the services of Raphinha. The club, after all, want to recoup the investment they had made a couple of years ago while making a snap profit in the process.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not Newcastle United are willing to even consider such an amount, knowing there are other alternatives available in the market.
