Earlier this week, it was reported that Barcelona and the players were quite fed up with information that was being leaked to the press, and had come to a suspicion that one of Xavi’s staff was responsible for this.

As such, Javi Miguel had reported that Xavi and the club had been trying to conduct an internal investigation at the club to identify the mole within the team, and that Xavi went through the WhatsApp conversations of his staff members.

And because the players are convinced that the person responsible is part of the staff and not among the players, a division has been created in the dressing room.

Therefore, Xavi and the Barcelona squad have conducted meetings alone for a number of times this year.

The report had also claimed that the club had threatened journalists to reveal their source or their media pass for games would be revoked.

However, according to an update from Cule Mania, Barcelona have clarified that neither Xavi, nor any of this assistants went to the extent of searching the phones of the staff members.

Further, Barcelona did not threaten or prevent any journalist from coming for games, pressers, or interviews. They have not spoken to any reports about this, and not stopped them from conducting their work.

What the club have done, however, is speak to journalist Javi Miguel, and told him not to speak on Xavi’s behalf or about his decisions, intentions, or wishes, as the journalist has been seen doing since the Spaniard took over as coach.

Barça state that, “The journalist does not have any relationship with the coach, and has not had one for months.”

It remains to be seen if Javi Miguel or the club release any updates on this situation, but as of now, the chapter seems to be closed.
