FC Barcelona’s targets in the summer transfer window accurately represent their intentions: to enhance the team’s attacking capabilities for the upcoming season.

Nico Williams is the priority for the Catalan giants, as his signing appears closer than ever. He is anticipated to be Barcelona’s first major signing this summer.

In addition to the Basque winger, Barça are also fixated on reuniting with La Masia graduate Dani Olmo.

Negotiations underway

Although Olmo’s release clause has expired, Barcelona remains determined to negotiate a transfer fee with RB Leipzig. Simultaneously, the club is focused on ensuring that discussions over personal terms with the player proceed smoothly.

Now, according to Jijantes, this afternoon in Barcelona, sporting director Deco held an important meeting with Juanma Lopez and Andy Bara, the representatives of Dani Olmo.

The discussion, which lasted for two and a half hours, centred on the potential transfer of the 26-year-old star to Barcelona.

Interest in Dani Olmo has surged, especially after his outstanding performance in the UEFA Euro 2024 campaign, attracting numerous potential suitors.

As such, Barcelona have their work cut out if they aspire to acquire the forward’s signature/ Still, the club has an advantage over other competitors and that is the player’s will to don the Barça jersey.

Moreover, Olmo will have an opportunity to not only return to his boyhood club; but also reunite with several Spanish teammates, with whom he most recently enjoyed tremendous success.

Time will tell what Barcelona’s offer for Olmo will be, but reports have previously argued that the club intends to initially offer between €40 and €50 million, with additional performance-related bonuses to reach the total €60 million specified in the contract.
