The ‘Dani Olmo case’ continues to make headlines in the early hours of 2025. After it was revealed that both the Spanish international and Pau Victor were not registered and were removed from La Liga’s official website, reactions from the Barcelona locker room have been swift.

Olmo shared a post on Instagram with the caption “It’s 2025 time,” accompanied by blue and red hearts in clear reference to Barcelona, alongside photographs of him celebrating the arrival of the new year with family and friends.

The first teammate to react was Lamine Yamal, who left a comment that caught the attention of many, offering support to the Terrassa native: “Dani Olmo is a Culer,” to which more than 30,000 people reacted with ‘likes’.

Shortly after Yamal, another influential figure in the dressing room, central defender Inigo Martinez, also responded, though in a slightly more cryptic manner. He posted several clock emojis in reference to the timing of the situation.

His comment received ‘likes’ from Eric Garcia as well as former Barcelona players such as Sergi Roberto and Andres Iniesta.

The deadline for La Liga to validate the documentation submitted by Barcelona regarding the sale of VIP boxes at the future Spotify Camp Nou expired at midnight on 31st December.

However, after the club announced that it had requested a new license from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), La Liga responded firmly, stating:

“Barcelona has not presented any alternative that, in compliance with La Liga’s economic control regulations, would allow them to register any players from 2nd January onwards.”

The Blaugrana remain hopeful of sorting the matter out before January 3, and believe they can register Olmo and Victor.
