Dani Olmo joined FC Barcelona earlier this month, completing a transfer from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €55 million plus another €7 million in add-ons.

The 26-year-old has grand ambitions of winning titles with his boyhood club now that he has returned a decade after La Masia.

However, it appears that the Spanish international must have to wait for a little while longer to make his debut for Barcelona.

Dani Olmo will miss Valencia clash

Indeed, according to journalist Jose Alvarez on El Chiringuito TV, Dani Olmo is all set to miss Barcelona’s La Liga opener against Valencia this weekend.

Despite some media reports suggesting that the 26-year-old UEFA Euro 2024 winner had already been registered with La Liga, it turns out that it is not the case.

As things stand, the idea is for the Spanish international to be registered in time for Barça’s second La Liga clash, which will take place on August 24 against Athletic Club.

As such, Barcelona fans will likely have to wait for another ten days to see their new signing in action, with Olmo not participating in the Joan Gamper Trophy match against AS Monaco either.

Who else is yet to be registered?

Barcelona managed to complete the registration of three players – Ansu Fati, Eric Garcia, and Clement Lenglet earlier this week.

However, two days away from the Valencia encounter, several stars remain unregistered – starting from the aforementioned Dani Olmo.

Meanwhile, fellow new signing Pau Victor, one of the revelations of the pre-season, is also not registered with La Liga so far, along with Inigo Martinez and Vitor Roque.

Youngsters Pablo Torre and Alex Valle, back after spending the last season on loan, are yet to be registered as well.
