Journalist Roger Torello has reported in Mundo Deportivo that Barcelona target Dani Olmo is likely to have his future decided before August 9th.

This is the date when he is required to return to training with RB Leipzig.

Olmo is currently on vacation, waiting for the final decision about his future. The outlet claims that unlike Nico Williams, who has yet to disclose his plans, Olmo is quite clear about his desire to join Barcelona.

Even though he has more lucrative offers from Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Manchester United, his heart is set on Barcelona.

Olmo and his agents have been negotiating the terms of his contract with Barcelona and after Barcelona’s first official proposal, progress has been made.

While waiting for Barcelona to enhance the payment conditions for RB Leipzig, Olmo hopes to have his future settled before August 9th. This is the day he is supposed to report back to his club after winning the European Championship with the Spanish national team in Germany.

Every summer, Olmo’s name has been linked with Barcelona, but this year seems to be his best opportunity to return to his boyhood club. He has the support of Deco, who sees Olmo as a versatile forward capable of playing in any attacking position.

Whether as a winger, a number ‘9’, or an attacking midfielder, Deco believes Olmo would add much-needed firepower to the team. The new coach, Hansi Flick, who is familiar with Olmo from the Bundesliga, agrees with this assessment.

This time, everything seems to be aligning for Olmo to finally don the Barcelona shirt. His determination to return to the club where he started, coupled with the interest from the sporting director and the coach, makes this transfer a real possibility.

The Spaniard is eager to resolve his future quickly and hopes to start the new season as a Barcelona player. The next few days will be crucial in determining if he will fulfil his dream of playing for Barcelona again.
