Journalist Ferran Correas has made a huge revelation through SPORT, claiming that Dani Olmo decided against a move to Bayern Munich because he is only excited about the chance of going back to Barcelona.

It is no secret that Olmo has become one of Barcelona’s top targets to strengthen their team this summer. The club’s sporting management, led by Deco, has been working hard to make this happen.

However, a lot will depend on financial fair play rules, the club’s economic situation, and whether any current players leave the team.

Despite these challenges, the club’s management is determined to reinforce their attacking lineup with Olmo and also with Nico Williams.

There was a positive meeting recently

Barça’s interest in Olmo is very clear and Deco has held several meetings with the player’s agents, Juanma Lapez and Andy Bara. These discussions have been ongoing, showing just how serious Barcelona are about bringing Olmo back to the club where he was trained.

Furthermore, Barcelona have already reached out to Leipzig with an initial offer of €40 million plus €20 million in variables. However, Leipzig find this offer insufficient, especially since Barcelona wants to pay the €40 million in instalments.

Barcelona’s interest in Olmo isn’t new, but it has grown stronger recently, especially after his impressive performance in the Euro Cup.

He has stalled Bayern Munich, for now!

Olmo’s enthusiasm about returning to Barcelona led him to put his potential move to Bayern Munich on hold.

After excelling in the Bundesliga with Leipzig, Olmo became a prime target for Bayern’s general sporting director, Max Eberl, during this summer transfer window.

There were talks between Bayern and Olmo’s representatives, and Bayern were ready to meet the €60 million release clause that was valid until July 20th. Despite being on vacation, his primary goal is to rejoin Barcelona.

However, this depends on several factors, including financial fair play, possible departures from the current squad, and the decision of Nico.

If Barcelona cannot finalise Olmo’s transfer, Bayern Munich remains a strong contender to sign the Spanish international, given their continued interest in him.
