With Barcelona embroiled in financial distress, all sorts of revenue streams will be appreciated at the club as they look to finally return to the 1:1 rule.

As it turns out, the ongoing Euros could prove to offer some relief to the club, with the tournament representing a significant financial opportunity for FC Barcelona, particularly if the Spanish team advances to the final in Berlin on July 14.

Dissecting the numbers

Now, SPORT have shed light on the numbers and confirmed that Barcelona already earned over €2.5 million from sending out nine players to national teams in the Euro 2024 tournament, with the potential for more income.

As per the information, UEFA pays clubs €10,000 daily for each player in the Euros, from ten days before their national team’s first match until a day after their elimination.

The payment is averaged for players with the club over the past two qualifying years. Adjustments apply for players from other clubs last season, with criteria-based percentages, such as Ilkay Gundogan and Ousmane Dembele.

In this scenario, Barcelona could earn €220,000 from Robert Lewandowski, €260,000 from Andreas Christensen, and €330,000 from Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Gundogan. Spanish players have contributed €320,000 thus far, with Kounde adding €300,000.

In addition, every Spanish player would receive an extra €100,000 if Spain advanced to the final in Berlin on July 14. This could raise Barcelona’s total profits to about €3.2 million. Even if France reigns supreme, Barcelona might make more than €3 million.

Furthermore, Barcelona are going to be compensated for the injury that Pedri sustained in the encounter against Germany.

Barcelona may collect almost €300,000 if Pedri is cleared before the league match against Valencia on August 17 and stays out of action for five weeks.
