It has been almost nine months since Gavi suffered a terrible ACL injury while playing for Spain. Having undergone surgery, the Barcelona wonderkid has been working hard on his recovery.

The 19-year-old La Masia sensation has been sparing no efforts in training, having undergone a stunning physical transformation in recent months while he also started recently working with the ball after months.

Excitement surrounding Gavi’s recovery

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that within the Barcelona locker room, there is a lot of excitement and optimism surrounding Gavi’s return to training and recovery.

Having worked alone for months on his rehabilitation after surgery, the teenage sensation slowly began training with the physios and trainers in the gym or on the beach to step up his recovery.

For several weeks now, the midfielder has been training on the turf of the Ciutat Esportiva and those who see him up close acknowledge that they are excited to see him training.

Despite the fact that everyone at the club wants to be cautious and neither the player, the staff, nor the doctors are in a hurry for his return, the energy and the good sensations that Gavi transmits mean that there is a certain optimism about his return.

Earlier return than anticipated?

As has already been reported, Gavi will not be ready for the start of the season next month and has been pencilled to return sometime in mid-November later this year.

However, if he continues with the same evolution, it is not ruled out that the midfield gem could cut his return period short by a few weeks.

Hansi Flick, Barça’s new coach, admitted last Thursday, the day of his presentation, that Gavi is ‘on fire’ in training.

The German coach is aware that once the 19-year-old is back, the level of the midfield will increase, as well as the alternatives to make up the starting XI.

It is still early days and the last part of the recovery process is still to be completed at the Ciutat Esportiva with the rest of the injured players while the team is on tour in the United States.

Besides, no one will risk his early return, but seeing Gavi training now, fills Barcelona with great optimism and hope.
