With less than a month remaining before the start of the season, Barcelona are working ’round the clock in an effort to reinforce the team.

One of the club’s priorities is to bring in Euro 2024 superstar Nico Williams, who has been identified as the ideal attacking target for the Blaugrana.

However, Barcelona’s plans do not stop at signing Nico. In fact, the club have far bigger ambitions and are planning to sign at least three Euro 2024 winners this summer.

Barcelona’s priorities for the summer

Reliable journalist Adrian Sanchez has revealed Barça Universal that the club’s first order of business this summer is to bring in Nico Williams.

But interestingly, Barcelona’s second priority is Mikel Merino. The Real Sociedad star, who was also a part of the Euro-winning Spanish team, is the club’s ideal reinforcement option for the holding midfield position.

Barcelona’s order of priority for Merino could be significant as it implies the club have identified three top targets this summer, with Dani Olmo being the third.

Barça’s interest in Olmo has been widely covered in the media lately, with outlets suggesting he could the club’s priority after Nico.

But as per Sanchez, Barcelona want to sign Mikel Merino after they complete the capture of Nico. Only after this, the club could make a move for Olmo.

An interesting facet that binds all of these three players together is that they were all part of the Spanish team that lifted Euro 2024, with Olmo and Nico, in particular, emerging among the top performers in the competition.

While signing each of these three players will be extremely tricky for Barcelona, their additions would, no doubt, make Barça one of the strongest teams in Europe going into the new season.
