On Friday, reports emerged claiming that Barcelona president Joan Laporta was unhappy and angry with some of the criticism coming his way from sections of supporters.

There are fans who are not entirely happy with how things are being run at the club, be it with regard to the board, the squad planning or even the manner of Xavi’s dismissal as manager.

As such, Laporta has had to face some backlash from fans in recent weeks, which seemingly continued today during a reserve team fixture.

Fans chant ‘Barça yes, Laporta no’

Laporta, after a brief break away from all the noise, is in attendance to support Rafa Marquez’s side but had to hear some unpleasant chants from fans.

A few minutes into the game, a section of fans started shouting “Barça yes, Laporta no”.

It was followed by another chant which went: “Stop making a fool of yourself.”

The chants lasted several seconds and were perfectly heard by the president, who witnessed the match from the box.

Things eventually settled down and fans turned their focus back towards supporting the players on the field.

This is not the first time that the anti-Laporta chants have been heard during Barcelona’s penultimate La Liga encounter against Rayo Vallecano at Montjuic.
