As Barcelona get set to take on RCD Mallorca in La Liga on Friday night, forward Ferran Torres is still not back in group training.

The 24-year-old forward has been out since picking up an injury in the game against Osasuna in late January and has gone on to miss five league matches as well as the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Napoli.

It was believed that Ferran would be back in group training this week and there were even expectations he might receive some minutes against Mallorca so that he could be 100% ready for Napoli.

But, earlier this week, it emerged that his availability for Friday’s game was a doubt, but he would be available for the UCL clash next week.

Ferran out vs Mallorca, could miss Napoli meeting

Now, SPORT is reporting that Ferran is still not back in training with the rest of the squad on the eve of Barcelona’s game against Mallorca.

As such, the Spanish forward is ruled out of tomorrow’s match at Montjuic and his availability to face Napoli at home next week is also under threat.

This is not a good development for Barça for they are already without some important players like Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Gavi out through injuries.

Ferran had been in good nick before getting injured and his return would have been a welcome boost for Xavi Hernandez & co.

However, for now, the wait continues for the ex-Manchester City forward to make a comeback from his injury layoff.
