Barcelona are looking to maintain their position at the top of the league table as they take on Las Palmas in Gran Canaria tonight.

There is no room for error for Barcelona, especially with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid breathing down their necks.

However, despite the high stakes involved, coach Hansi Flick made a crucial decision to leave out Ansu Fati for the trip to Gran Canaria.

The attacker was left out of the squad once again after being called up for the Rayo Vallecano clash, indicating that Flick does not see him as a major part of his plans anymore.

Fati trains alone

It is quite clear that Fati is aware of his diminishing role in the team. Despite that, he refuses to give up.

Fati has been training alone at Ciutat Esportiva, while his teammates prepare at Gran Canaria to face Las Palmas.

This was revealed by the player himself as he posted a short clip of him training alone at Ciutat Esportiva on Instagram.

The Barcelona attacker can be seen doing running exercises and conducting other forms of training. No one else was seen in the video.

It appears as if the attacker wants to tell Flick that he is not ready to give up just yet and still dreams of earning a prominent place in Barcelona’s starting eleven.

Once regarded as the heir to Lionel Messi, Fati has featured in just 186 minutes of professional football this season. He has fallen behind all the other Barcelona attackers in the pecking order.

The club were keen on sanctioning Fati’s exit in the January transfer window, but the forward refused to entertain any moves despite constant interest from Turkish clubs.

Fati is expected to take a final call on his future in the summer, even though his situation is unlikely to improve anytime soon.
