Earlier this month, it was reported that Barcelona’s construction project for the renovation of Spotify Camp Nou is going as planned.

The club are planning to open up the stadium by the end of the year, with an initial capacity of around 64,000 supporters.

Construction boost for Camp Nou project

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has now offered another update on the construction project surrounding Camp Nou.

It appears Barça have reached a pivotal agreement with the Barcelona City Council and the residents of Les Corts to accelerate the construction work at Spotify Camp Nou, marking a significant step towards completing renovations ahead of schedule.

This breakthrough agreement was evident in the rapport displayed by Xavier Barbany, a director on the Espai Barça commission, and David Escude, the councillor for sports, during the recent Diada event.

What was the agreement about?

The new agreement, which comes after months of restricted work hours due to complaints from local residents, allows construction activities to be carried out 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday, but with specific conditions.

Work inside the stadium can now continue around the clock, while external work remains limited from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., except for the area near Gol Nord, facing the cemetery, where work can extend until midnight.

How it will aid construction

This expanded schedule represents a significant change from the previous restrictions, aiming to minimize disruption to the surrounding community while enabling Barcelona to make rapid progress on the renovations.

The agreement will be reassessed in a month, with feedback from residents who must confirm that they have not experienced any noise problems due to the extended hours.
