Barcelona were shorthanded in the last summer transfer window due to financial limitations but still managed to sign promising young talents for the youth ranks, such as Noah Darvich and Mika Faye.
The former, especially, had a lot of buzz around him in Europe already. He joined the Catalan giants after FC Barcelona and SC Freiburg agreed to a €2.5 million move until June 30, 2026, with a buyout clause set at €1 billion.
While he had a slow start with minimal opportunities, Darvich is coming into his own now and showcasing the talent he was renowned for at Freiburg.
Barcelona believe their bet is paying off
Now, as per Mundo Deportivo Barcelona are happy with Noah Darvich’s progress and feel that the bet they made for him is starting to pay off.
Lately, the German midfielder has been more involved with Barça Atletic. He has played in the previous eight games, the last three in a row, and five as a starter.
Most recently, against Teruel, he showed his utmost potential by providing two assists and scoring one goal, with his side winning 4-2.
In addition to putting up solid performances for Barcelona Atletic, Darvich recently scored a game-winning goal against the Netherlands while playing for the German Under-18 national team.
The player is going through a good moment and has pleased the Barcelona hierarchy with his rise in prominence under Rafa Marquez as well as his displays for Germany.
Moreover, Darvich’s incorporation into the Barcelona team and dressing room is progressing smoothly.
As a midfielder, Rafa Marquez has been able to bring out the most in him, primarily by having him operate through central channels.
However, Darvich can operate in any position in the center of the pitch and Barcelona are glad to see their investment in him yield fruit.
