Barcelona are planning to make at least two notable signings in the summer transfer window apart from prolonging the stays of Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix at the club.
The idea is to reinforce the defensive midfield and the left-wing positions as priorities before next season with signings that can make an impact immediately.
Amadou Onana appears to be the favoured candidate when it comes to the No. 6 position, while multiple options are being looked at for the left flank.
Enquiry made for Leroy Sane
One such option being considered to reinforce the attacking unit in the summer is Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane.
In fact, as per SPORT, Barcelona have already made an enquiry for the 28-year-old forward, whose contract with the Bavarian giants expires in the summer of 2025.
Sane has been at Bayern Munich for almost four years now, having joined from Manchester City, and has been an integral member of the team during that period.
In the current season, the German international has featured 30 times in all competitions, registering nine goals and 12 assists in the process.
Sane has been linked with Barcelona in the past as well, and as per the report, they have lodged an enquiry for the €80 million-rated speedster.
Sane likely to renew contract
Sane will be entering the final year of his deal in the summer, making him an enticing prospect for Barcelona.
However, SPORT goes on to mention that, as things stand, the 28-year-old is likely to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich.
The German winger has recently changed his agent and is expected to pen a new deal with the Bundesliga champions, which would rule out a summer move to Barcelona.
The Catalans are also keeping tabs on AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, although the Portuguese’s €150 million release clause will make things complicated.
