Speculation linking Lamine Yamal to Paris Saint-Germain has rocked Barcelona recently, with the French giants reportedly ready to fork out €200 million for the Spanish forward.

However, there have been mixed reports in the Spanish media, with some claiming that Barcelona are yet to even receive any official bid from PSG for Yamal.

Amid all the uncertainty, Fabrizio Romano has come up with an important update on the future of Yamal, cutting all the clutter.

No bid from PSG

Romano confirms that Barcelona have indeed not received any bid from PSG, let alone a €200 million proposal – a value which almost touches the €222 million the club paid for Neymar in 2017.

Even if Barça do receive any proposal from PSG, they are unlikely to consider it. Romano further confirms that no talks have taken place between the two parties and the matter has not advanced at all.

Romano notes that PSG have several options in the ‘Kylian Mbappe’ position, including Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola, so the club won’t be in any rush to splurge such a substantial amount on a youngster like Yamal.

Barcelona planning new deal in 2025

Barcelona, for their part, are determined to keep hold of the services of Yamal. They consider the Spaniard a future prospect who can become the club’s main protagonist in the years to come.

As such, Barcelona have prepared a plan to extend the contract of Yamal in 2025, when he turns 18 and will, therefore, be eligible to sign a professional contract.

The Catalans are planning to make Yamal the face of the club’s attacking unit and as such, offers from PSG will not entertained anytime soon.
