Despite the capture of Dani Olmo, Barcelona have not lost sight of their top attacking target Nico Williams.

The club are still hopeful of signing the Athletic Club forward, with Joan Laporta ready to take charge of negotiations while Barça may offer a fee of €12 million.

Kingsley Coman: Barcelona’s Plan B

However, should Barcelona fail to sign the Spanish international this summer, they have a plan B ready in the form of Kingsley Coman, reports Sky Sports (h/t iMiaSanMia).

The report reveals that Coman is keen on leaving Bayern Munich this summer, seven years after joining the club on a free transfer.

Coman has reportedly offered himself to Barcelona, as he seeks a potential reunion with Hansi Flick.

Barcelona’s bid to sign Coman, though, could be complicated by the club’s inflated wage bill. The Blaugrana, therefore, would be required to make sales if they want to afford the Frenchman.

Is Coman a good bet for Barcelona?

Barcelona’s renewed desire to sign Nico suggests the club are desperate to sign a new winger, especially considering the fact that Dani Olmo could be employed in a central role.

Coman, to that end, could be a cost-effective alternative given that Nico is expected to cost a fortune, both in terms of transfer fee and salary.

Coman is no stranger to working under Hansi Flick. He featured in 63 competitive matches under Flick at Bayern, racking up 13 goals and 18 assists.

There is no reason why Coman cannot replicate those performances at Barcelona. However, the Frenchman’s game has been on a decline in recent years.

More importantly, Coman’s poor injury record makes him a questionable target for Barcelona, who have had their fair of troubles with injuries in recent years.
