Barcelona are currently making strategic moves to solve their ‘fair play’ issues with La Liga, and as per a report from Mundo Deportivo, one of their key tactics involves partnering with WhiteBIT, a Ukrainian cryptocurrency company.

The outlet mentions that the revenue generated from this partnership would assist Barcelona in achieving the financial ‘fair play’ required to register their new signing, Dani Olmo.

It must be noted that despite being a major addition to the team this summer, Olmo has not yet been able to make his debut in the first two matches due to these financial restrictions.

Barcelona are exploring several avenues

Initially, Barcelona hoped to register Olmo after reaching an agreement with one of their current sponsors Aramark, a company specialising in hospitality and catering services, to pay part of the €40 million owed by Libero for the Barça Vision deal.

However, the Spanish Football Association did not approve this, leaving the club in a bind. Now, Barcelona are exploring other avenues to comply with the ‘fair play’ rules, aiming to have Olmo registered before their upcoming match against Rayo Vallecano.

In their efforts to resolve this, Barcelona are turning to WhiteBIT, another global sponsor. Just as Aramark has supported the club financially, WhiteBIT is expected to invest in Barça Vision, the club’s new business venture under Bridgeburg Invest.

The deal is in advanced stage

It has been suggested that this deal is well underway, with WhiteBIT set to become a shareholder in Barça Vision. This partnership would cover part of the financial shortfall left by Libero, another investor in Barça Vision.

By working with WhiteBIT, Barcelona hope to generate the necessary funds to meet La Liga’s financial requirements. This move not only aims to register Olmo but also strengthens Barcelona’s financial position in the long term.

With this strategic approach, the club is navigating its financial challenges while staying within the rules, ensuring they can compete effectively in the upcoming season.
