As reported a while ago, FC Barcelona seem to have identified Bayern Munich and France winger Kingsley Coman as the alternative if they fail to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club.

The Blaugrana are intent on roping in a new left-winger and are making all possible efforts to sign Nico, but there are doubts about his arrival even though club president Joan Laporta is ready to lead the negotiations himself.

As such, alternatives have been identified, with Coman seen as a potential Plan B, considering that Bayern Munich have decided to part ways with him this summer.

Barcelona have had contacts with Coman’s agents

Now, journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Barcelona have been in contact with Coman’s representatives in recent days.

In fact, the report even states that the Catalans have been informed by the French winger’s agents that a loan deal from Bayern Munich would be possible.

Such a move could prove to be beneficial for Barcelona given their financial situation at the moment.

However, as things stand, the La Liga behemoths are fully focused on trying to sign Nico Williams and as such there has not been much progress yet on the Coman front.

But if it becomes clear that Nico will continue at Athletic Club for one more season, signing the Bayern Munich attacker on loan could be a wise move for Barcelona.

After all, Coman is a player that Barça manager Hansi Flick knows very well from their time together at Bayern, with the winger even playing a key role in the sextuple that the Bavarians won under the German.

So, as things stand, Coman has been offered to Barcelona by his agents and contacts have been maintained, with the Blaugrana even being informed that a loan deal could also be possible.

However, the situation is not exactly ‘hot’ as Barça remain fully focused on Nico Williams. Whether that changes in the coming days remains to be seen.
