As has already been established, Barcelona will go after the signing of a new pivot midfielder and a new left winger in the summer transfer window.
Obviously, finances will dictate which players they go for, but the sporting department is staying ready for all scenarios and has identified several possible targets for both positions.
Luis Diaz on Barcelona’s radar
As such, SPORT reports that as far as the left-wing spot is concerned, Barcelona are very much interested in Liverpool speedster Luis Diaz.
The Colombian international has been linked with a move to Barcelona in the past as well, with the club having shown an interest in him prior to his move to England.
The Catalans have continued to hold an interest in the 27-year-old since he signed for Liverpool, with the winger having many admirers at Can Barça.
Having lost Ousmane Dembele last summer, Barcelona are eager to sign a differential winger who can make a significant impact from the get-go, and Diaz is an option who is well-liked.
Diaz willing to join
Furthermore, the report states that Diaz himself would be keen to make the switch from Liverpool to Barcelona if an opportunity presented itself.
It must be remembered that not so long ago, the winger’s father insisted that he dreamt of playing for the Blaugrana.
However, Liverpool will not make it easy for Barcelona to sign their ace speedster, who has a contract with the club until 2027.
Should Barça go for a low-cost pivot or a free transfer option such as Guido Rodriguez, it might leave them with enough funds to think about a move for Diaz.
For now, there appears to be interest from both sides, but any transfer looks complicated due to Barcelona’s finances.
