With the summer transfer window four months away, the planning is already underway at FC Barcelona to strengthen the squad for the next season.

Even though there will be a managerial change at the end of the season, the Blaugrana are already pressing ahead with the strategies and possible operations for the summer.

As has been reported already, the left-wing position is one where Barça are seeking major improvements, along with a defensive midfielder and potentially an interior midfielder as well.

And, if a report from Mundo Deportivo is to be believed, targets have also been identified for each position.

Barcelona interested in Mohamed Salah

As per the report, Barcelona are interested in Liverpool megastar Mohamed Salah and see the Egyptian ace as the best option on either flank.

However, it is also claimed that owing to the prevalent financial situation at the club, the Catalan giants are aware that a move for the veteran Premier League forward is impossible this summer.

Salah has spent almost seven years at Liverpool now and has etched his name in the club and Premier League folklore as one of the best forwards to grace the competition.

The 31-year-old is leading Liverpool’s title charge this season, having scored 18 goals and set up nine from 27 games across all competitions.

Barcelona are seemingly great admirers of Salah and believe that he would be the dream signing to strengthen their attack.

At the same time, however, they are also aware that any deal for the former Chelsea man will be impossible due to his cost, even though his contract expires in 2025.

Who are the alternatives?

Apart from Salah, Barcelona are understood to be monitoring three more wingers, two of whom hail from the Premier League.

Indeed, the La Liga champions are keeping a close eye on Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli, as well as Brighton & Hove Albion’s Kaoru Mitoma. Barcelona also have their sights set on Napoli speedster Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
