Bojan Krkic senior, the father of former Barcelona forward, has said that winter signing Vitor Roque will succeed at Barcelona.

The 18-year-old attacker arrived in Catalonia this winter and at 18 years of age, this is his first experience of European football, something that might put him under pressure despite the fact that Xavi has assured the team will be patient with him.

“Vitor Roque is a very good player and he will succeed at Barça,” said Bojan Krkic Sr. on the SER program ‘Què t’hi Jugues’ (h/t SPORT).

Roque is yet to open his Barcelona account

It is to be noted that Roque has played four games for Barcelona so far and while on paper it seems a lot, the reality is that he has only clocked 73 minutes across La Lig and Copa del Rey.

Above all, his introductions have always been at a difficult time and this is exactly what Krkic Sr. thinks. “What happens is that he always enters in difficult moments.

“He does not enter a game-winning 3-0 and having the entire second half or half an hour. He does not enter calmly and with a team being at the top of the standings,” he added.

Krkic Sr, who happens to be the former member of Barcelona’s scouting department, also said that Roque is currently in a very competitive environment and the fact that he needs to fight Robert Lewandowski for a place is only an added pressure.

“He is in a team that demands a lot, where there is a Lewandowski and when he takes his place it is double pressure.

“For me, what he does very well is that in each game he misses one or two goals. This means that he has a nose for goals and we need a player who goes into space like him,” he concluded.
