Robert Lewandowski is making a strong case for himself at Barcelona, despite some club directors previously considering his departure this summer.

According to a report from MARCA, the Polish striker has silenced those who advocated for his exit due to concerns over his age and his substantial salary, which has been increasing over his first three seasons at the club.

However, Lewandowski’s performances have done more than impress—he has made a powerful impact on both the dressing room and the board.

He is also managing his fitness carefully, choosing to rest from international duty when necessary to avoid injury, as he did recently with the Polish national team

In addition to his impressive form, the forward surprised the club’s management by offering to reduce his salary to help ease the wage bill, facilitating new signings for Barcelona.

Lewandowski continues to defy odds

At 36 years old, Lewandowski has defied the odds with his stellar start to the season. His incredible physical condition has not surprised manager Hansi Flick, who worked with him at Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski’s success can be attributed to his dedication and strict attention to his physical care. During the summer break, he did not take time off, continuing to train after his European Championship campaign, and arrived at pre-season training fully fit.

Barcelona are well aware of his professionalism and dedication, and this commitment has only reinforced the belief of those who supported his stay this summer.

Lewandowski wants to succeed at Barcelona

While some voices within the club had considered him a prime candidate for a major sale, Lewandowski made it clear that he had no intention of leaving, even turning down lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia.

Not only is Lewandowski content with his role at Barça, but he also enjoys life in Barcelona and gets along well with both former manager Xavi and current boss Flick.

His decision to offer a salary adjustment to aid the club financially, as revealed by Joan Laporta, came as a surprise and highlighted his loyalty to Barcelona.

This selfless act silenced his critics and cemented his place as a key figure in the team for seasons to come.
