Barcelona have already made a shortlist of players they definitely want to offload once the summer transfer window opens up, or is close to.

This includes a few players from the team, including Oriol Romeu and Marcos Alonso, while the future of a few others like Raphinha, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen are still up in the air.

There also a fair few players on loan who are expected not to return back to Barcelona. If things go according to plan, the club want to get rid of most of the on-loan stars by this summer.

Lenglet calling curtains on Barcelona tenure

One of the players Barcelona loaned out in the summer was Clement Lenglet. After a topsy-turvy time at Tottenham Hotspur last season, the Frenchman left for Aston Villa this season, and has cemented a spot for himself in the team after initial struggles.

According to a report from MARCA, Lenglet will not return to Barcelona.

The Catalans will try to sell him in the summer, but there is a slight concern regarding his high salary. He might have to slash his wages in order to find a permanent residence at a club.

There were reports in January about AC Milan being interested in his signature on loan, but Villa never authorised his departure.

Eventually, though, Lenglet seems to have found his place at the club, and has started 12 Premier League games since mid-December.

What about Dest and co.?

Sergino Dest is another player who has impressed on loan this season with PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch side will definitely be interested in pursuing his signing permanently and could trigger his €10 million purchase option.

Back home, Eric Garcia, Chadi Riad, Julian Araujo, and Alex Valle have all done rather well during their loan spell so far. However, their fate is far from the same.

Barcelona want to offload Eric Garcia, especially after the rise of Pau Cubarsi, while Julian Araujo could get a spot in the first-team as Joao Cancelo or Jules Kounde’s backup.

Alex Valle’s situation is unclear right now, while Chadi Riad is expected to continue at Betis despite initial reports claiming that Barça could look to bring him back.
