Alphonso Davies is a player in high demand as he appears all set to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent in the summer when his contract expires.
Real Madrid have been working on the Canadian left-back’s signing for a long time now but recently Barcelona too entered the picture to acquire his services.
The Blaugrana see the Bayern Munich speedster as a market opportunity that is too good to pass on and have been hoping to use his connection with manager Hansi Flick to convince him.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are also interested in Davies’ signing, setting up for an intense battle.
Barcelona, Manchester United face rejection
However, according to MARCA, Davies has already decided to sign for Real Madrid and as such has rejected the approaches made by Barcelona and Manchester United recently.
The report states that the Blaugrana as well as the Red Devils have been in contact with the Canadian international’s entourage in recent weeks to explore the possibility of a switch in the summer of 2025.
Barça hoped to appeal to him through Flick while Manchester United were willing to meet his lofty salary and bonus demands.
But both Barcelona and Manchester United received negative responses from Davies’ camp as the defender has made up his mind and only wants to sign for Real Madrid.
Even the prospect of reuniting with Flick at Barcelona was not enough to sway the 24-year-old, who has also shot down several contract proposals from Bayern Munich.
As such, it appears that Barcelona could end up missing out on Davies next summer, but they do have alternatives lined up in Alvaro Carreras and Hugo Bueno.
