It is no secret that Hansi Flick is one of Barcelona’s top candidates as the club look to find a replacement for Xavi Hernandez in the coming summer.

Flick is currently a free agent and is available to coach Barcelona starting from next season onwards. That makes him an appealing target for the Catalans.

Flick’s chat with Pep & Dome

As Flick deliberates a potential move to Barcelona, it appears the German tactician is making use of his status as a free agent.

As per Martin Li (h/t Diario SPORT), Flick travelled to Denmark in midweek to watch Manchester City’s game against Copenhagen.

He then visited Manchester to watch Man City in training. He also had a chat with Pep Guardiola to learn how his team works. The two coaches shared their experiences overall.

In addition to his meeting with Pep, Flick also spoke to Domenec Torrent, Guardiola’s assistant in Barcelona, Munich and now in Manchester.

Dome has years of experience coaching not only alongside Pep but also in New York, Brazil and Turkey. Dome and Flick had dinner for five hours, sharing coaching experience, in what could be the latest indication of Flick’s desire to join Barcelona.

An appealing target for Barcelona

The report adds that Hansi Flick is an appealing target for Barcelona, particularly because of his status as a free agent.

Barcelona also value the German tactician highly due to his man-management skills and his previous success at FC Bayern, where he had notably bagged a treble in 2020.

Flick’s effort to gain more insights into Barcelona, therefore, becomes particularly important, in the context of Barça’s search for a new manager.
