The past 48 hours have not been kind to Barcelona. The Catalans, after all, lost both Pedri and Ronald Araujo to serious injuries, endangering their participation in pre-season.

Of the two, it was the Spanish midfielder who first went down injured after a cruel foul by Toni Kroos in Spain’s quarterfinal against Germany.

Subsequent tests revealed that Pedri suffered a grade 2 lateral sprain in his left knee, ending his participation in the ongoing Euros and sidelining him for at least a month and a half.

The prodigious midfielder took to his official social media account for the first time after his injury earlier today, sharing his feelings with fans across the globe after his heartbreaking knee injury.

“I came to Germany for the Euros, and I will stay here until the end. Because the dream continues,” he began, insisting that his spirits were still high despite the blow.

Commenting specifically on the injury, Pedri wrote that he is past the incident and is only focused on recovery at the moment.

“The most difficult moment has passed, and I have begun the path back to soon be at the peak of my performance with Barcelona.”

The midfielder even made sure to acknowledge Toni Kroos’ message after the game with grace.

“Thank you, Kroos, for your message. This is how football is, and these things happen. Your career and achievements will always last forever.”

Finally, Pedri signed off from the post cheering his team on, saying,
