Dani Olmo’s agent Andy Bara has raised many eyebrows with his statements in a recent podcast, with the agent notably revealing that Barcelona had rejected a bumper offer from PSG for the services of Lamine Yamal.

Bara also talked about Olmo’s transfer saga this summer and why the player opted to join Barcelona despite interest from a host of other top clubs across Europe.

Dani Olmo joined Barcelona in a €55 million move from RB Leipzig, but the club were not able to register the forward until the final few days of the market.

The entire fiasco had grabbed media attention, with many questioning Barcelona’s integrity and economic distress.

Bara, though, revealed that the situation always remained cool between Olmo and Barcelona, even recalling a conversation he had with Joan Laporta at the time.

“The media created a lot of noise, but Joan Laporta told me not to worry and that the registration issue of Olmo would be solved within 15 days, and it was really solved,” Bara said (h/t Podcast Inkubator).

Barcelona registered Olmo just before the second game against Rayo Vallecano. They were able to register the player on account of Andreas Christensen’s injury.

Bara went on to reveal that Olmo always wanted to join Barcelona despite interest from other clubs.

“We had a lot of offers for Dani, – three or four from big clubs. I don’t want to name them, but Dani always wanted Barça,” he said.

“We had a feeling that Barça would be perfect for Dani, I really pushed for the Barça move to happen and Dani also wanted to go back home.”

Much to Barcelona’s fortune, Olmo has not disappointed either, racking up two goals since joining the club and becoming a crucial outlet for the club in the creative department.
