Barcelona have been linked with several names in recent months, especially in midfield and attack. The likes of Rafael Leao, Joshua Kimmich, Martin Zubimendi, and Khvicha Kvaratshkelia, among so many more keep surfacing as potential transfer targets for the Catalans.
They are also interested in signing Joao Cancelo permanently after his impressive stint at the club so far this season. Otherwise, though, Barcelona look more or less sorted in defence.
The blaugranes do want to probably offload one of Jules Kounde or Andreas Christensen, though, in an attempt to raise money. Chadi Riad is one of the players considered as a replacement, while the option to promote Mika Faye is also open.
Interestingly enough, Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid’s Mario Hermoso. The Spaniard is out of a contract in the summer and is free to negotiate a pre-contract with any club.
However, Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Hermoso’s situation saying that Barcelona are not working on a deal for him, despite rumours suggesting otherwise.
Juventus were also linked with a move, but they, too, are not considering the Atletico defender as an option to reinforce the defence as of now.
His future remains open, though, as Atletico have not reached any sort of agreement with him yet. There have not been any news of the two parties entering extension negotiations, which likely signals the end of the tenure for Hermoso.
Hermoso is not having a particularly season so far despite playing 23 games and keeping six clean sheets for Atletico. He has been the subject of severe scrutiny from the Wanda Metropolitano faithful, and could be on the move in the summer.
