According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona initially planned to loan out Vitor Roque, however, the possibility of a permanent sale is now on the table.

Roque’s future at Barcelona remains uncertain, as the Brazilian player, who joined the club in January, did not manage to impress former coach Xavi enough to secure a spot in the team.

The same sentiment is echoed by Hansi Flick, adding more uncertainty to Roque’s position. Despite being the only natural replacement for the star striker Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona are not ruling out the option of selling their second-choice centre-forward.

Much has been said about Roque

A few days ago, reports suggested that Flick is keen on evaluating Roque’s performance. This evaluation was expected to be crucial for the player’s career at Barcelona. Despite this interest, several factors could influence whether Roque stays or goes on loan.

For now, the manager wants to see Roque’s abilities firsthand, but this doesn’t guarantee him a permanent spot on the team.

The situation is further complicated by Roque’s agent, who is pushing for a transfer, adding another layer of uncertainty to the young forward’s future.

Interest from Saudi Arabia

Roque’s potential move is further muddied by his demand in Saudi Arabia. Given the financial strength of Middle Eastern clubs, it has been reported that Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal are preparing to make a significant offer for Roque

Barcelona, facing financial constraints, would not stand in the way of his exit if the offer is substantial.

Currently, Barcelona are open to selling Roque if a profitable offer comes in. While a transfer within Europe seems unlikely, Barcelona are aware of Al-Hilal’s interest and is waiting for any concrete moves from the Saudi club. If an astronomical offer is made, Barcelona will likely secure the deal.

For now, it appears that Roque will join the team’s tour in the United States, after which a final decision regarding his future will be made.
