It is no secret that Barcelona are looking to sign a new winger to their ranks to boost up their options on the left flank and have identified Nico Williams as their primary target.

But a move for the Athletic Club winger appears complicated now, forcing the Catalans to turn their attention towards Dani Olmo, who while being capable of playing on the left flank, is not a natural winger.

Amidst this, an alternative solution might have emerged for Barcelona from Italy.

Federico Chiesa offered to Barcelona

Indeed, according to SPORT, Barcelona have been offered a chance to sign Juventus and Italy winger Federico Chiesa by his representatives.

The 26-year-old has been frozen out at Juventus by new manager Thiago Motta and has been told to find a new club at the earliest possible. Given his quality, a number of top European teams are exploring a move.

At the same time, Chiesa’s services have also been offered to Barcelona, who had shown an interest in him last year but did not act.

Chiesa’s entourage has already spoken to Barça for months. There is a good relationship as they also represent Marcos Alonso and the player would be more than willing to come, but the 26-year-old already has several offers on the table.

Lazio, Inter Milan, Napoli, and Manchester United have all been credited with an interest in the Italian international, who scored ten goals in 37 games for Juventus last season.

Chiesa’s contract with the Bianconeri expires in 2025 and they intend to part ways with him rather than offer him a renewal.

Given that he only has a year left on his deal, the Italians are unlikely to demand a fee higher than €20 million for him. Whether Barcelona consider taking up the opportunity to sign Chiesa if Nico does not arrive remains to be seen.
