Barcelona are currently in a bit of a dilemma regarding Raphinha, with a recent report from The Athletic confirming the mixed feelings within the club about his future.

While some believe in his talent, others see him as a valuable asset that could bring in a significant transfer fee.

Raphinha, despite his talents, is not without competition at the club, as his natural position as a right-winger is currently occupied by the emerging star Lamine Yamal.

This has led some within the club to view Raphinha as expendable, especially if a substantial offer comes in.

As such, the outlet mentions that Barcelona have set the bar high, stating they would consider selling Raphinha if they receive an offer of €60 million or more.

The situation is quite complicated

The situation is further complicated by Raphinha’s recent performances and attitude. Towards the end of the season, he impressed the board and the club’s director of football, Deco.

His willingness to support Yamal’s rise and his overall sportsmanship have made a positive impact. As a result, the club is now more inclined to keep him.

However, Barcelona’s financial strategy is also in play. They are keen on signing Nico Williams, a top target, and to do so, they need to generate funds through player sales.

Raphinha, being highly marketable, presents an opportunity to bring in the required money. This puts the club in a tough spot, as they must balance their need for funds with their appreciation of Raphinha’s recent contributions.

However, despite the club’s openness to a sale, Raphinha has made his stance clear: he does not want to leave Barcelona. This determination complicates matters for the club, which now faces the challenging task of convincing him to consider other opportunities.

There is interest from Saudi Arabia

Adding to the mix is interest from Saudi Arabia. Clubs from the region are reportedly willing to offer around €100 million, including add-ons, for the Brazilian international.

Al Hilal, in particular, have shown a strong interest, with their coach, Jorge Jesus, keen on signing Raphinha. For that matter, Barcelona have informed Jesus that a substantial bid would be required to make them consider selling.

Yet, despite these lucrative offers, Raphinha remains firm in his decision to stay. He has communicated his intentions to Deco, who now faces the task of balancing the club’s financial needs with Raphinha’s personal wishes.
