The future of Vitor Roque remains a talking point in Barcelona as they prepare for the new season.

The Brazilian has fallen out of favour and has failed to impress even in pre-season, compelling Barcelona to consider offloading the forward.

Vitor Roque has had no shortage of suitors either, with a series of European and Arabian clubs keen on acquiring his services.

Roque rejects Al Hilal move

Roque, though, appears to be keen on proving himself and has recently rejected the advances from Saudi Arabian giant Al-Hilal, reports Fabrizio Romano.

This news comes amidst reports of Barcelona’s struggles with Financial Fair Play regulations. Al Hilal’s initial offer, reportedly attractive for both Barcelona and the player himself, was seen as a potential solution.

However, Romano suggests that Roque is determined to prove himself under Hansi Flick’s new project.

Despite his determination, Roque’s path to first-team minutes appears challenging. Barcelona are reportedly considering several loan offers in Europe for the striker.

Additionally, the club’s pursuit of transfer targets like Dani Olmo and Iñaki Williams, coupled with the success of Pau Víctor and the existing pool of forwards, makes Roque’s place in the squad precarious.

Al-Hilal could make another offer

While Roque has rejected Al Hilal’s approach twice, Romano reports that the Saudi club aren’t throwing in the towel just yet.

They’re expected to return with a new proposal, potentially enticing enough to sway the young striker. However, with several European loan options on the table, it seems more likely that Roque will seek playing time elsewhere on the continent.

One thing’s for certain: Roque’s future at Barcelona appears bleak. With limited playing time seemingly guaranteed and a transfer potentially aiding the club’s finances, a move away from Camp Nou seems inevitable.
