The future of Ferran Torres has come under the microscope this summer even after the forward’s triumph in Euro 2024.

Speculation linking Ferran away from a move to Barcelona come on the back of the club’s bid to generate fresh revenue, which could be key in unlocking the deal to sign top target Nico Williams.

Barcelona place Ferran on the market

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have made Ferran Torres available in the market, as the club desperately look for avenues to generate revenue.

Barcelona’s move has been motivated by Ferran’s lack of productivity since joining the club in 2022. The Spaniard has played 113 matches for the club, scoring just 25 goals.

The Catalans believe Ferran has not lived up to the expectations, especially after the club shelled out more than €50 million for his services.

Ferran unwilling to leave

However, even in the case of Ferran Torres, Barcelona are set to face a familiar problem, one that has haunted the club in recent years.

That is because the Spaniard has no desire to leave Barça despite the fact that the club are desperately looking to get rid of his services.

This is not the first time Ferran has appeared unwilling to leave Barcelona. The forward has been linked with an exit in the past, but he always showed the desire to fight for his place in the team.

Only this time, keeping hold of Ferran’s services could prove to be a liability for Barcelona, who are looking to upgrade the ranks in attack by bringing in top target Nico Williams.

Ferran’s exit, to that end, could prove to be critical in helping Barcelona make enough economic provision to be able to sign the Athletic Club superstar.
